Self Portrait Reflection
1.) Interpret you art subjectively. What are the good/strong parts of your artwork? Why?
I think the good/strong parts of my portrait portfolio are the variation of people in them. I had children to old
people.
2.) What do you think you could have done better? Why?
I think I could have taken more pictures to make it stronger.
3.) Evaluate your use of emphasis: What are the human parts you had stand out the most often? Why?
I focused mostly of facial features and body, because they were most flattering.
4.) What type of balance did you use and why?
I used asymmetrical most of the time because that's just how it turned out. Honestly. I tried to get a different balance but they all looked bad. The universe just likes unbalanced things.
5.) What do you conclude about photography? Are you interested in the photo class? Why or why not?
I conclude that photography is harder than it looks. I am very interested in the photography class but I don't think I will be able to take it. I really like it, but I don't think I'm good at it.
6.) What did you learn?
I learned that people look at you weird when you take a camera everywhere. I also learned that a photograph isn't just a bunch pixels on a piece of paper.
7.) Evaluate on the meaning of your photography: Why did you create the image the way you did? Was it plammed or by chance?
Almost all of my pictures were taken by chance. I took the first picture in the good pile just to see if my hair looked good. The only posed picture I took is of Jasmine infront of the window, and that didn't turn out well.
8.) Give your opinion on this project as an assignment: What was good? What was not good? What could Mr. Purdy do to make it better for future classes?
I think it would be helpful if we had a bit more time.
